Legion Post 279 News

The Commanders Patio Project is near completion. The patio has been finished and the patio paver stones have been installed. In addition a retractable awning was purchased and will be installed soon. 3 Bistro tables and chairs were recently added as well as a large propane heater and a chiminey. Join us in the official grand opening on new years eve. Save the date, more details to follow!

Thanks to all of those who purchased pavers and to those who donated money and furnishings including the post auxiliary and SAL.

On Saturday, June 21st, Past Commanders Mike Broderick and Ron Kerr presented a check in the amount of $500 on belhalf of Lincoln Park Post 279 to Marc Brummer of Hobby's Deli in Newark NJ towards this project.

On Sunday, May 25, 2008 once again, the Post and the Borough of Lincoln Park Paused to remember those who served our Country and are no longer with us.
Memorial Day is a day to reflect on the sacrifices of all who served our Country in time of war, some of whom died for our freedom and others who came home to enjoy in those freedoms until called to Post Everlasting.
Thanks to all our Legion, Auxiliary and SAL members who planned, cooridinated, participated in and observed our Parade and Ceremony.
Always remember, the cost is freedom is not cheap and we must never forget those that offered their lives to preserve that freedom.

We are pleased to announce that Harold's "Commander's Project Patio" is under construction and progressing well. Please be aware that while the patio is under construction, you must use the kitchen entrance. The paver stone sale has been extended till June 16th. You can still get a beautiful paver stone with your engraving that will be displayed in the wall of the patio. Dont miss your chance to be part of post 279 history.
